Jason Mraz

A good e-friend told me about someone she went to see in concert in California, so I acquired some of his music. (I did what I had to)

I mean, I’ve heard him all over and never acknowledged him…but he blows my mind.  His music really captures things I think about and things I feel.

People have been asking…so here’s a shot of a half finished tub. Need to clean the grout lines and hang the curtain…

Poker Face

September 27th, 2008

God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of His own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players [i.e. everybody], to being involved in an obscure and complex variant of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won’t tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.

I’m fine…albeit a little pissed that people consider email, facebook and the like a sufficient means of staying in touch. With all of the world at our fingertips and easy ways to talk to people, we’ve forgotten how meaningful and hand written letter or a phone call can be.

Why send a birthday card when we can email one? Why call a friend on their birthday when we can facebook them like every other schlub that day?

Even the telephone is impersonal IMO. People need to come to one another’s houses and play board games…no more of this virtual world/wall we use to distance ourselves while facading concern for one another.

I’m coining a phrase.

I’m so tired of mediacratic automitons…masses flooding to the norm…the status quo…what the fuck is wrong with everyone? When did this virtual world we’ve enveloped ourselves in become a sufficient means of communication?

mediacratic automitons
mediacratic automitons
mediacratic automitons

Media –> Media (did I need to define this?)
Cratic –> -cracy –> a form of government or a state having such government.
automiton –> automation –> numerical control

Society failed me.

I laughed while writing, you laugh while reading.

While I do not condemn the procurement of software, music and videos on the internet by “grey” means, I, by nature of being overcautious and paranoid, do not condone instruction of said means by myself or any others for that matter.

Knowledge is power and so, by distributing that knowledge I relinquish my power. In doing so I dilute that which I belong to and increase its likelihood of becoming the music industry’s next battle. While they so valiantly chose their battles…old women, churches and children…my front is not one on which I wish to see such a thing occur.

ere go, to myself I keep my knowledge. The power is there for those who seek it, but it must be done alone.

“Then, learn to use this”
(points at collection of questionably obtained intellectual property)
