I thought this thing was really cool.  It’s a lift lock in Falkirk.  At first the picture didn’t seem real but there are operational photgraphs of it.  This is the worlds only rotating boatlift used to connect the Forth & Clyde and Union canals.  Tony Kettle designed it and it is 35 metres high.
