Don Doucet

DonDoucet

I was moved to tears this afternoon when I went by the site of the accident where this man, a city police officer, was killed by a drunk driver.  There were flowers and ribbons on the light posts, but it was seeing his picture; propped up by a bouquet of roses, and thinking of his family that makes this so sad.

He leaves behind a wife and two teenage daughters.

If you want to see her charged as much as I do…I hope she stays in thos chains they put on her.

You got your facts wrong… the accident happened at 2:40A.M. ……………..NOT THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. I am certainly pleased that you are not a reporter or a part of the press. She is obviously IS NOT going to get a fair trial

Obviously, being concerned with facts…you wouldn’t understand that this is not about a fair trial for a drunk driver. This is about a drunk driver killing someone’s father…it’s also her birthday…today…so next time you decide to open your ignoramous mouth, why don’t you take into consideration shomething like; ‘facts not mattering’ when someone you love is dead because some imbecile couldn’t dial a phone number and take a cab home.

    Jan,

Kris didn’t say anything about the accident happening in the middle of the day. He said he was moved to tears that afternoon when he drove past the site of the accident.

A question. What is your involvement in this story? You seem passionate about it. Also why do you believe she won’t get a fair trial?

    Looking forward to your input.

Seeing that woman in chains, behind bars would make me feel better about the justice system in Canada. People crash their cars now and drive recklessly, sometimes killing innocent citizens and they get off under no-fault insurance. NOw I’m ticked off so I had better leave.

In response to Don Pedro… Kris’s original comment did say ” in the middle of the day”, I printed it off. I see it’s been rectified. Thank you. As far as the rest of the remarks go… Does it not occur to you that for the rest of her life she will have to live with the horror, guilt and remorse of taking a life, no matter what the circumstances. What if she’s exonerated? What if the police officers ran the red light? What will you say then? Ooops we made a mistake, and go on with your life. I work in the justice system. I see young women like her everyday. I help put them back together. So yes I am passionate about it and I hope intelligent enough to wait until all the evidence and FACTS are presented to the court before I start with the school yard name calling

Yes I did correct it, and I was mistaken in my original post.

It’s just too bad not everyone in this story has a chance of being put back together. Knowing someone has to live with the guilt of killing someone, and having to be put back together seems like justice to me…so perhaps we’re all ignorant in our own little way.
