Postponing the End

Often, when I reach the end of a novel it takes me as long to read the last 15 pages as it took to read every page before them.  Regardless of the feeling of accomplishment that can be extrapolated from such a task as finishing a novel, it means letting go.

I seem to be doing the same thing with school.  Everything I did this semester was on time, but now I’m down to the wire and my last essay is sitting on my computer unprinted and I want to ask for an extension.  Not because it’s unfinished, but because I’m unwilling to finish.  This has been a good semester in school and I don’t want to let go quite yet.
